Location Spotlight: Fair Oaks, CA

Just on the onskirts of Sacramento is the city of Fair Oaks, which is the perfect hidden gem. This little spot surrounding the Fair Oaks Bridge is a photographer’s playground with amazing river access, gorgeous bluffs, and all levels of STUNNING.

Old Fair Oaks Bridge

Located right at the end of Bridge St. (off of Fair Oaks Blvd) is THE prime location to take a stroll at sunset across the bridge while taking in the stunning view of the American River! Obviously this is a time where the bridge can get busy with people with pets and cyclists, so if this is the time you’re shooting be prepared to share the bridge. But the photos are SO worth it!
Parking: There is minimal street parking off of Bridge St., BUT there is paid parking by the Sunrise Boat Ramp that is $7.

Upper Sunrise Boat Ramp

Across the bridge is a boat ramp with plenty of parking, and access to the water. During the summer months this spot is filled with families and water crafts, but during the spring/fall the crowds lessen. In the morning hours (9am-11am) the sun shining from the East creates this soft glow and gently reflects off the river which makes for PERFECT lighting!

Fair Oaks Bluffs

To get to this spot, you have to hike up the hill off of Bridge St. on a dirt path (it’s slightly steep) towards this beautiful meadow. During the spring, there are cute small purple flowers in grassy hills, and during the fall it’s the perfect field for those holiday cards.

TLDR: This spot is GORGEOUS

Whether you want to release your inner fairy or family photos in the meadow, this spot has a little something for everyone! Let’s see how we can bring your vision to life!
