What is Safe Space Photo?

It was truly like a light bulb going off above my head

I was sitting on the couch with my girlfriend, contemplating my career choices, and it just light up in my head. Mind you, this is shortly after the pandemic happened and a photo business idea flopped before it even started. I was in that “What am I doing as a photographer?” phase, when it just hit me. Why don’t I connect with genuinely cool LGBTQ+ people through taking their photos in a space where they can truly be themselves? There are horror stories of people feeling super weird and uncofmy because the photographer made it that way. Ew. No. Who want’s that?! I’ll put the end to that right here!

I’m not just a photographer..

Photography has always been a “hobby” that I’ve done since I was 16. I use quotes because it never felt like just something I did for fun, but something I’m meant to do, like a sixth sense. I was the one that took the group photos, but my instincts kicked in and turned into a full blown photo shoot. Hyped everyone up, made sure their hair wasn’t a mess, fixed collars/pockets, and had everyone laughing. Creating a whole vibe rather than documenting a simple time.

I’m your friend that will not stand for lame photos for an AWESOME person.
